Grant helps Murchison’s trailer park cook
Cooking equipment at the Murchison Caravan Park Reserve camp will be upgraded with a $ 50,000 grant from the Victorian Government Campground and Caravan Grants program.
Grants of $ 6.1 million were made to Landcare groups, trailer parks and campgrounds for retrofits.
Victorian Energy, Environment and Climate Change Minister Lily D’Ambrosio announced the recipients of the Victorian Landcare 2021 grants, with more than 450 community groups and organizations receiving more than $ 4 million in grants .
Ms D’Ambrosio said the aim was to encourage Victorians to return to the wonderful green spaces, enjoy the great outdoors and support regional economies.
âThe camping and caravan grants will allow more Victorians to access quality, affordable accommodation as we rediscover vacations in our great outdoors,â she said.
“This latest round of Landcare grants continues our support for the vital work of volunteers – especially in our regional communities – protecting our natural environment and enhancing the habitats of native plants and animals.”
Landcare grants have been awarded to community projects including weed control, pest and animal control, habitat protection, revegetation and community education.
The grants give the regions a boost as they welcome visitors once again with more than $ 2 million provided to upgrade 20 campgrounds and trailer parks across the state.
Almost half of the successful projects will be funded to improve access and equipment for all levels at the sites, allowing more people with disabilities to enjoy the great outdoors.
The Campground and Caravan Grants initiative provided $ 6.6 million to help public land managers provide quality and affordable accommodation to visitors across Victoria.
