Hogs continue to reign as the nation’s No.1 team


FAYETTEVILLE, Arche. – The Arkansas Razorbacks remain the best team in college baseball.

The Hogs are the nation’s unanimous No.1 team for Week 16 of the season, leading the six major polls released ahead of the NCAA tournament. Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, D1Baseball, NCBWA, Perfect Game and USA Today each kept the Razorbacks atop their respective rankings for the eighth consecutive week.

It’s the 10th time this season that Arkansas has been the nation’s undisputed No.1 team and the 14th straight week the Hogs have held onto the top spot in at least one of six polls. The Razorbacks have ranked No.1 in Baseball America’s top 25 polls for 14 straight weeks, the posting’s longest streak since 1998, Stanford topped the standings for the first 15 weeks of the season.

SEC regular season and tournament champions Arkansas enter the NCAA Regional Championships with an overall record of 46-10. The Hogs’ route to Omaha begins against NJIT at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 4 at Baum-Walker Stadium.
