Inter-county travel and home visits among a series of reopening measures starting today
GOVERNMENT REOPENING is shifting into high gear today as a series of regulations end, including the inter-county travel ban.
Starting today, non-essential retail will start trading again, along with an increase in the number of people able to attend outdoor gatherings.
The government notice states that a maximum of three households or six people from any number of households can meet. This limit of six does not include their children aged 12 or under.
Outdoor gatherings with a maximum attendance of 15 people are allowed and this goes for adult outdoor training in pods limited to 15 people.
There is a gradual reopening of non-essential click-and-collect retail, in-store by appointment only. This is before the full reopening of retail from May 17th.
There is a reopening of galleries, museums, other cultural attractions and libraries will be allowed to lend books but there will be no access to reading areas or computers.
There are changes to church services including funerals and weddings as 50 people can attend the service. There is still a ban on ârelated eventsâ for funerals but a maximum of six people can attend an indoor wedding reception or 15 people for an outdoor gathering.
The ban on travel between counties is lifted and the number of public transport is increasing to 50% of normal capacity.
You can also travel between counties in Ireland to your mobile home or stationary caravan. This is only permitted if you are the owner of the mobile home or caravan.
Mobile home and trailer parks can be opened to facilitate homeowners’ access to their property. However, no tourist activity, for example the rental of mobile homes or pitches, is authorized and no common facilities should be open.
