MOORHEAD – A man from Moorhead is being held in Clay County Jail for firing multiple shots in a neighborhood near the Hornbacher on Main Avenue late Monday January 3.

Police received several 911 calls from people living in the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue South, where they heard gunshots around 11 p.m. Monday evening, according to a Sergeant Moorhead.

Police called a man and arrested him for questioning, after finding cartridge cases and a gun outside one of the houses.

They then arrested Leon Norman, 22, of Moorhead for recklessly discharging a gun.

No one was injured in the incident, and there is no danger to the public, police said.

If approved, the Mapleton Public School District will sell bonds to build an addition to the district elementary school from junior kindergarten to sixth grade that would provide space for a middle school that could ultimately house sixth through eighth. year.

Lindenwood Campground begins to take reservations

FARGO – While the warmer months may still seem far away, Lindenwood Campground has started accepting reservations for this year’s camping season.

Reservations are required for all campers and campsites cost $ 35 per night. Campers are also limited to a maximum stay of two weeks per 30-day period, and the Fargo Park District will not offer a refund.

Located off Interstate 94, Lindenwood Campground has 47 sites with water and electricity, according to a press release from the Fargo Park District. Additional amenities include: paved driveway, electricity, picnic tables, running water, fire pits, hot showers, restrooms, two play areas, kayak rentals, bicycle rentals and cycle paths.

The campground, located at 1955 Roger Maris Drive in Fargo, is scheduled to open on May 1.
