Red River Gorge’s new “glamping” spots are pretty fancy
Enjoying the great outdoors in Kentucky just got a whole lot more whimsical.
Dappled Light Adventures on Monday launched five “glamping” (i.e. glamorous camping) rental sites, located on 50 acres of private property in Daniel Boone National Foresta few minutes from Red River Gorge in Kentucky.
Each glamping site is housed in a sturdy canvas tent that sits on a raised platform, with some up to 10 feet off the ground. Inside, they are furnished with a queen-size bed, a modern sitting area, a fireplace, a large porch and charcoal grills for outdoor cooking. Construction will be completed this summer to add a fully connected bathroom and shower.
Glamping guests also have access to on-site hikes and natural sights, including waterfalls, cliffs, and overhangs.
“Our goal has always been to help people get out; we believe the outdoors is for everyone,” Izaac Rains, a Cincinnati native and co-owner/operator of Dappled Light, said in a statement. “Right now, people are craving experiences that will ‘reset’ their minds and help them connect with the people and things that matter.”
In addition to “glamping” sites, Dappled Light Adventures also offers cabin rentals, corporate retreats and guided father-son trips, according to the website.
Glamour tent prices start at $100 a nightavailable for booking on the website through Airbnb.
