Smith Falls State Park will launch reservation-based campsites later this week in addition to several park improvements.

Half of the 70 campsites in the park will be open for reservation from Monday at 9 a.m. The other half of the campsites will remain first come, first served.

Smith Falls State Park, located about 12 miles east of Valentine, includes Nebraska’s tallest waterfall.

Campsites can be reserved three to 180 days in advance on the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website or by calling 402-471-1414.

Some of the new park improvements include a new shower stall, three new concrete latrines, and a new deck connecting the campground and the park office.
