PIERRE, SD – The South Dakota Department of Hunting, Fishing, and Parks (GFP) is seeking additional public comment on the future development and use of the Spring Creek Country Club near Canton (Harrisburg).
GFP hosted two open houses on December 7, shared a brief presentation on development concepts, and garnered public feedback on how the property could be managed and developed for recreational purposes.
GFP seeks more public contributions from those unable to attend these meetings. To view potential recreational development concepts and to provide feedback on how these concepts can be improved or changed, visit: https://arcg.is/008qy.
Downloadable versions of the concepts can be found on the Good Earth State Park page on the GFP website.
“GFP will purchase the golf course from the South Dakota Parks and Wildlife Foundation in January 2025, and we want to use the property efficiently for recreational purposes. We want as many interested park users and stakeholders as possible to share their thoughts and ideas, ”Deputy Parks Director Al Nedved said.
Nedved also said that GFP will continue to meet with stakeholders to share development concepts and solicit feedback from these stakeholders on how best to manage and develop the property for public recreational use.
The link to the survey will remain open for public comment until February 6, 2022.
