The Great Dogs Walk will take place at the Chatelherault Natural Park

THE Big Dog Walk will take place this Sunday to raise vital funds for a leading animal charity.

The event will take place in Chatelherault National Park and The Dogs Trust hopes local dog lovers – as well as their four-legged friends – are willing to do their best to participate.

The Dogs Trust, which has an employment center in Glasgow, is the charity partner for this year’s walking series.

Russell Benson, Community Fundraising Team Leader for Dogs Trust, said: “We are very happy that the Big Dog Walk is taking place at Chatelherault Country Park.

“It’s always wonderful to spend time with our dogs, and that has certainly been true over the past 18 months considering the difficult times everyone has been through.

“For dog lovers and their canine companions, being able to now get together and participate in the Big Dog Walk is fantastic and we hope that many former Dogs Trust residents will join in the fun.

“All participants will be able to raise funds for Dogs Trust and every penny will help us ensure that we can continue to give the dogs still in our care everything they need until they find their forever homes. ”

The walk will give owners and their dogs the option of choosing between a 2 km, 5 km or 10 km route and the walking times have been staggered for the comfort and safety of all participants. New this year is a Puppy Socialization Walk, for anyone with new additions to the family.

In addition to participating in the walk, dogs and owners can enjoy fun games and surprises around the course and event village where there will be many activities for dogs like a Dogstacle course, shopping, tips and tricks. experts, a fun dog show and plenty of refreshments.
